Andrew Carlos Wendt Announces His Candidacy for Michigan State Senate in 35th District

Saginaw, MI – Andrew Wendt, a dedicated public servant and legal immigrant since 1978, proudly announces his candidacy for the Michigan State Senate, representing the 35th District. As a blind man with a unique perspective, Wendt sees the dysfunction in Lansing with clarity and brings his sharpened listening skills to unify the Senate and deliver results for Michiganders.

Wendt’s extensive experience includes serving as a Saginaw City Councilman for eight years, where he championed community-driven solutions. A former teacher in urban schools, he understands the challenges facing Michigan’s education system. As a former ethnic vice chair for the Michigan Republican Party and a former member of UAW Local 699, Wendt has a proven record of bridging divides and advocating for working families.

“My vision for the 35th District is clear: better healthcare, stronger education, enhanced public safety, and robust job creation,” said Wendt. “I’m also committed to guarding parental rights and protecting women’s rights, ensuring every voice is heard and respected.”

Wendt’s campaign focuses on practical, unifying solutions to address Michigan’s pressing challenges. His lifelong dedication to service, coupled with his ability to listen and connect, makes him uniquely qualified to represent the 35th District in Lansing.
